<span style="font-family: 'System'">It was well dark by the time we set out from Treasure Beach - Negril bound. Mi hate fi nyam junk food a Yard but by the time we pass tru Sav everyting close up excep BK so dat affi dweet. Wi plan fi stay at Bar-B-Barn and mi call dem earlier fi mek sure seh dem have a room that will fit we. We pull into the parking lot just in time before they leave for the night.
I make two mistakes. First, I paid for the night. Second, I never go see the room before the lady gone. Critical mistake dat!
We lugga-lugga all a de ting dem to the room, walk in and the beds have no sheets on them!!! No towels in the bathroom, and the room dutty and not fit for habitation. All the times mi go stay a BBB dem never style me so. Mi did well vex!
The only staff on duty was a bartender. Mi go talk to him and see what he can do for me. Him seh dem (management) nuh like him, so dem never gi him de keys to the room with clean sheets. Then he proceed to cuss the management and how him not happy with de way dem run tings. Mi wasn't interested inna dat. Mi waan some towel an clean sheet fi sleep on.
So now coming up on midnight, de whole a we tiyad nuh rhatid, and we affi lugga-lugga we ting dem back inna de car and start look fi a place to stay.
Thank God fi Mariner's!
It's not the best looking place to stay in Negril but what a difference staff can make!
The front desk lady Miss Eleanor was very friendly and go out of her way to turn our night around. The security guy went to turn on the a/c to cool dung de room. After we sekkle in and decide to hold a reasoning session with some VX, she sort us out with glasses and ice! All a dis in the wee hours of the morning.
The next day mi go a BBB fi gi dem a proper cussing. The manager was there and she apologise and gi mi de money back. I hope that she sort out de wutliss staff she have deh and hire some new people weh tek tings serious.
Next time mi need a place fi ress mi head a Negril, a Mariner's mi seh!
