on Norway.... I spent alot of the last three years. I had a flat there in fact and paid local tax. I have a D number which allows me to work there (a social security number that means i can work there legally they are very dificult to obtain.. chicken and egg u need a job to get one and you need a D number to get a job) (for the record paying tax in Norway is like a man giving birth through his urinary system.. Beyond painful... i paid that year up to 60% of my earnings between norway, uk , Denmark Jamaica....).. i found the men to be socially constipated and a high level of rudeness...and the women are nicer and more confident. I have a couple Norwegian men who try to step out side their social programing but these are rare....
On race and nationalism... this was wierd... there was a ethopian workjing for my contractor he was nationalised i met him in the air port and engaged in conversation...So the next week i met my contact at the contractor...I said how is the Ethopian working for you... He could not identify him.... I said the fellows name the Norwegian said oh he is not Ethopian he is Norwegian.. The identical thing happened with another contractor with a Cemeroonian...
I travel on a couple European passports i could not get Norwegians to understand the fact i identify my self as Jamaican. Not Spanish or British... So their social thinking does not cover multiple nationalism... Look up their best sprinter a regular sub 10 Ndure he is pretty good despite enjoying the occasional spiff He is Gambian, when i refere to him as your African sprinter they are initially seem confused. Oh they have a Norwegian dance hall star resident in Jamaica!!!!!!..
it got strange as i have a friend of English and French passport who was resident in Norway a decade lived with a Norwegian lassie and was decraled by the Norwegian tax authorities as Norwegian.... He was then filled in an application.....and has a Norwegian passport He did do the 20 hours of Norwegian language lessons required!!!!!
(him i messed with he declared himself related to Princes Diana in publici told him not to.... he insisted...i told him he wouldnt be happy and not to he insiste... So i said welcome back to the family brother!!!!! I explained that Princess Diana was really a decendant of ST E...The entire company refers to him as Wahallas brother... which being French has a nascent level of rascism so i explain to him he is from the shallow end of the gene pool in terms of atheltic ability and inteligence!!!!!)
I felt that women and men are from different planets!!!!!! They are exceedingly fit nation. a friend of mine who worked with me fatehr worked there in the 70's put the apt description... "a nation of grumpy men and fit birds" .pne thing they tend not to use cash!!!!! you pay for everyting on cards....Everything is expensive....every one speaks english...taxi drivers are Somali...and they follow teh letter of the law... they have lunch at 11 am..leave work at 1500.. so the best time to schedule meetings is at 9 and 12...if the meetings over run they leave for lunch and on time... Dont schedule buisness on Fridays...
oh and there is a website that if you put in a mobile number it will tell you who is the phone owner... They travel alot and every Norwegian is a pound sterling millionaire...Men like to tell you how poor their grandfathers and fathers are.... They strike alot... The first week i was there the impossible happened... and to this day i dont get this... The farmers went on strike ????????? How you ask i dont know!!!!
Every summer there is a strike associated with the airlines security cleaning staff and the oil industry it goes for three weeks then the King intervenes and they do what the king says which is usually a reasonable compromise!!!!
Middle age men support Liverpool younger men Man united..now the under 20's su[pport Chelsea... its is to do with the dominant team in the English Premier ship...
They have great concert halls.....some of the best i have been to in terms of acoustics...
norwegian cuisne is terrible... one word ::::::: Lutefisk....Jagermeister the local beverage is like cough syrup, as for beer... makes yanki beer taste good..
It is a nation of atheists but they have alot of churches and there are alot of holidays associated with the church...Assension day is a holiday!!!!
Men like to tell you how poor their grand fathers and fatehrs were...
as for Iceland i past through there a couple times over nighted.. But one thing in 2010 their Prime Minister was female and was openly gay!!!! I was in the Faroes at the time, and of course in the local hosterly imbiding the local beer which was surprisingly quafable far superior to Norwegian....And the bar maid told us her nations embarrassment at a local MP who boycotted parliament to avoid meeting the Iceland prime minister and her partner.....I beleive most MPs in iceland are female!Last edited by Wahalla; 01-14-2015, 06:47 AM.

Wahalla Norway and the Norwegian people sound very interesting. The Friday thing seems like it is everywhere except the US. In some Latin American countries Thursday is called "Little Friday"..lolOut of Many One People Online

Got back Barbados!!!!!!
Went to the Races...went into the Grand Stand....bet a total of 300 Bajan Dollars...won Back 296.... So a winner..
Met a black British youth 17 who is doing real subjects at Alevels, Maths Physics Chemistry further maths, General Studies... a real student!!!! (ok those were my subjects!)
went to ST Nicolas Abbey as planned..Bought an etched bottle of 15 year old rum for my wife, did the tour.. rmeinded me of home and youth chopping cane.. Had a meal at Oeistein... (Which is a Norwegian name given the earlier discussions).. Went back to Harrison Cave... I like a bit of Calcium Carbonate Geology even on holiday... went to the Bajan Observatory...But it was not working!!!!! Saw the Sargossa seaweed contaminated beach... improved my swimming in the pool went to the gym every day...got meated out at Brazilian restaurant... discovered there is a law against military style clothing..
And met one of my fathers hero.. Sir Everton Weekes..I was was star struck for the second time in my life. (Other time i met Steven Hawkins daughter who is blond)....He turned out to be a 80 year old alcohol drinking, bonvivant, with an eyes for the ladies, polymath, with who i could have a conversation on Pan Caribbean politics, place names connection with the UK, connect Monymusk with industrial action in the 30's, Racial poltics in Guyana, CLR James, Bustamante, is still on a Government committee in Barbados, play bridge, chess and hates sweet potato..Plus he has a roundabout named after him.. THAT IS A MAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Turns out George Headley is his hero!!!!!!!!
On the way back... had a kafkaeque discussion with my family at the airport.... I asked for an up grade...(my wife say i become Jamaican when i talk to airport staff in the Carribean!).... They told me we can do the opposite... We want to bump you... My reaction great what you going to give me....Free tickets to any where on the virgin franchise, a night in a 5 star hotel....
For the first time in my life i thought Wahalla has hit the Jackpot!!!!!!!
And my family didnt want to take teh bump for the following reasons:
She whom all men fear... wanted to get home. Because she would lose her connecting flight..I told wife you want to for go 4500.00 in value for 400 pounds ????????
Daughter wanted to go to work for £10.00 for 3 hours. Told her i would give her 20 pounds instead and phone her manager who will say well done!!!!! (The manager did say well done, brilliant and i did pay daughter 20 pounds)
Both Sons wanted to go home play with mates...Told sons that there was a time i was paid to make duppies for that amount of money for three months.......
I had a meeting the next morning in London so I could not take up the offer personally..(one subject discussed was calcium carbonate reservoirs) but in the end the she whom all men fear agreed if i bought a replacement ticket which i did for 372 pounds! they got bumped.....
wife said the children spent the 24 hours complaining.... Lets see this "they spend a night in Barbados in a 4 star hotel and complain ?"
I think she whom all men fear is wonderful !
arnt holidays fun ?Last edited by Wahalla; 05-06-2015, 01:45 PM.
