I did that once ~ Sonny and me in Florida ... we took a road trip from Orlando to Naples to visit friends in a SASSY Red one / convertible tho ... top down all the time ... SWEET SWEET RIDE!!

<span style="font-family: 'Fixedsys'">at the airport - i see marilyn's car drive up with Pooh driving and DD in the back seat - i about died with excitement - i think i did a little dance

i met Pooh and Dave in Orlando awhile back - but this weekend i got to spend some time with them and it was all good

Beale Street stays open until 3AM and the street were teeming with folks

after listening to some wonderful blues - the guy played forever without a break - we hit up the Black Diamond

and believe me - people watching was as good as on the beach in negril . . . </span>

ooo, Laurel! a rag top Mustang!!! I didn't see any in the lot (trust me, I looked! )...I'm just glad we got the black one instead of the hideous "Hertz Yellow" one

oh we fooled Seveen good that day...she had PM'd me a couple weeks ago talking about going to Memphis....I told her it sounded like fun and how I wished I could be there

This is the band we saw that nite...they were called Delta Saturn....they were rockin' out with some Robert Johnson, Elmore James and other classic Delta Blues numbers....

They also played an original, which they likened to "Jimi Hendrix meets Bob Marley"!!! <span style="font-weight: bold">that</span> sure got the attention of the Jamaicaholics in the crowd!!

We got home kinda late....

Sun Studios.....this is the place where country music, gospel music and the blues came together to create the uniquely American art form known as "rock 'n roll".....this is where Jackie Brenston and His Delta Cats laid down the tracks for <span style="font-style: italic">Rocket 88</span>, considered the first rock song ever recorded....this is where Elvis, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, Roy Orbison (amongst others) got their start.....
