Calgary Stampede 2008

Stampede started Friday July 4th with the annual Parade. I didn't go but ....it is 3 hours long and shuts down the entire downtown of calgary for half the day.

The Stampede is also a time for the corporate world to throw parties for clients and potential clients, it is a great big networking event.

So I went to the first of (hopefully) many parties Yesterday (july 4th) This one was hosted by a company called Rare Method in partnership with Raven somethingorother. Rare Method does radio advertising recording as well as on hold messaging and other voice over type stuff.

also for the naysayers...there was a sign posted at the gates that pictures and video would be taken at the party and posted on the net...so I am using that as my permission to post here


You may recognize the venue as this is the same place the Carifest was held in June. And as seems to be my luck with that location it once again rained buckets

interesting, tanya. i could not help it i was seeking out the black folks oonu need more of them up in cowtown. the one you posted was a nice looking fellow.

You are right MGee at that party there were 3 black females and about 10 males....then as we were leaving about 5 more young ladies showed up. I did try to get a picture of one of the guys but people kept walking infront and I was trying to be discreet.

If you are talking the guy in the red shirt (nice looking) he is also one of the nicest people I know. I have known him for about 18 years (((((D))))

Roots when I go to the grounds this week I will make it my MISSION to find you a real old cow turd and take his picture

And the mini donkeys and the mini chucks I'm so excited

I have to get through 2 more corporate events first before I hit the grounds and the rodeo

I went down to rope square (Olympic Plaza) today and took pictures and also of ALLLLLLL the tourists on 8th Avenue (the pedestrian mall)
