This was a serious pilgrimage... not only for us, but for those from China and around the world who believe in PEACE and LOVE and UNITY for all - the Buddhist Philosophies. I saw parents carrying their infants up miles of rough terrain. Let me underline the fact that you cannot go to Mt. Emei and just take a car or bus up to the top. The monks have protected their mointain and monesteries from that kind of tourism. You have to be very dedicated and driven to make it to the summit...





The faces (9) watch over each direction protecting the mountain, and the elephants of course symbolize good luck, and this statue is gilded with actual gold - just breathtaking!

I watched some of the Travel Channel moving around China leading up to and during the Olympics ... but ~

tagging along with you is THOUSANDS TIMES BETTER!!!

LOVE the photo of Dawata on the elephant and LOVE the shots of the up top mountains and clouds ... can just feel the spirituality!!

The experiences you and your daughter share are a glue that will bond you together forever.

Some parents think that if it isn’t Disney it won’t be appreciated. You can see the understanding clearly through likkle mo’s eyes – she gets it

You have definitely refueled my resolve to go there... I also have some long lost relatives over there
(my mothers father came to Jamaica in his 20's and other members of his family remained there - we have a family history put together that traces our roots back 300 years in China... Other members of my family have been and met relatives - but I never have - so I have long wanted to go and see some of the places and people spoken about in the archives.)

Well Jazz... if you ever go, let me know and i will hook you up with lots of details (money, transportation, etc.)As you know I never take tours, so I spent a lot of time researching this one so we would be safe and comfortable - but of course, on the cheap!! That's the only way we get to see as much of the world as we have!!
Thanks for looking - more tonight - wait til you see the Li River in Guilin!! There sure is a LOT of heaven on earth - looks like you have seen your share too!!

Yes Sugar Shug... I understand completely - Likkle Mo said she gets &quot;her pick&quot; next, and she seems to think we are going to be going to Egypt sometime soon!! She has no concept of vacation time or saving money for these trips!! She said she could give me $20.00 out of her piggy bank!! Yep, that outta do it!!

I thought you and Miss would like the kitties - Likkle Mo is also an animal magnet!!
