New toy!!

So, before I went to Jamaica, my sis in law was looking for a new digital camera, So I found her a great little Canon Powershot for a great price.

She got it and likes it. I liked it and decided I wanted one for myself. For the last 6 years or so I've used my same old Canon PS A10. Yes. A10. 1.3 megapixels. Great camera but not much in the line of versatility.

Someday I'll get serious and get that SLR, but for now I got this sweet little powershot. I really like the Macro feature and the image stabilizer.

So here's my first practice pix.













Big snowstorm tomorrow, maybe there'll be something to take pics of.

Oh YAH!!

My friend on the cape has more plants and flowers in his house than any 12 people I know. He has windows everywhere and a very green thumb.
The blue ones and cyclamen were growing in pots, the tulips were a bunch in a vase somebody dropped off. The buds are forsythia that were cut a few days ago and brought indoors. They will flower nicely in a couple more days. If you have any forsythia around, check it for the tuny buds then bring it in, put it in water and in a week or so... FORSYTHIA!!

My friend's place is awesome. Very unique. I knew you'd love it Nanook!

This is a working wood stove. we've used it to heat and to cook. Many a party in this house. He collected all the beach stones for the base himself.


The wreath is feathers.


Roots!! Can't wait for better weather. I love my new toy!!
Maybe I'll get some new Ethan pics this week.

Thanks, I'm really liking it. And I gotta tell ya it was a deal and a half. Canon Powershot A590IS. $109.00 on Amazon. How could I pass it up?

I'm sure it's a little behind in technology since it was a 2008 release, but you really gotta love it for that price. All the reviews I read were very positive.

It came on Saturday when I was on my way out the door. It only comes with a small disk, so I stopped to pick up some prints and 2gig discs were on sale for $9.99. I think I drove my friends nuts with it all weekend. Reading the manual and experimenting with the macro and the slower shutter speeds.









Ok, I'm up past my bedtime. Thanks for all your compliments and encouragement. Gives me incentive to play with more features.

This toy has a wickid video feature!
