Little Bavaria

Frankenmuth , popularly known as "Little Bavaria” is a town in mid-Michigan, which is approximately 100 miles north of Detroit. It was settled in 1845 by Lutheran immigrants from Bavaria (a southeastern area of Germany). It’s a quaint little town that I passed through once and have always wanted to stop and see what’s there. Here are some of the pics on my little look around.

A stop at the Frankenmuth River Place (shopping center)
Right below is a river with a river boat that offers a 90 minute cruise down the river. Unfortunately they weren’t operating today because of the scant patrons.

Dancing maypole. This took me back to my childhood when I would watch the maypole dancers during festival season.



Saw this sign and automatically thought of Derek.



A white peacock. I’ve never seen such a thing in my life and waited for quite some time for it to open up and show off its plumes. It never did, but the other was more than happy to do so.

This place boasted that they are known for their “world famous chicken dinners”. (Anyting fi ketch ppl money.)





Lunch: Chicken breast, mash potato and stuffing. Not sure why the chicken is world famous.

And the highlight of my little look around – Bronner’s Christmas Store <span style="font-weight: bold">(The World Largest Christmas Store)</span> and that’s the truth! Nylah you would have been in heaven.

This tree had a glass pipe as it’s frame with water bubbling inside it.

Most definitely Milo. They're actually having a beer fest at the end of May, not to mention the annual Oktoberfest revelries.

The covered bridge made me think of the movie Bridges of Madison County. Loved that movie.

pretty place CG but something bout it kinda gives me the creeps. my overactive imagination makes me think it's one of those places that will run u out of town if u low dandylion fi grow pan u lawn.
