Distillery Market in Toronto

I went to a conference in Toronto last week and we made our around the Distillery area in Toronto. Never been there before and quite frankly didnt know it existed before.

Cool and funky place with elcetic stores and art galleries.

This sculpture is super cool looking when the sun is going down and hits it at the right angle





We went into this doll store and the dolls in there were absolutely exquisite The detailing was beautiful. I wasnt allowed to take pictures so these shots were snuck Average price for a doll was a thousand dollars plus

All the restuarants were booked solid on the Friday night so we had to settle for taking pictures inside them

We ended up making our way back to the Yorkville area since we couldnt find a place to eat in this area. We went to a restaurant named <span style="font-weight: bold">Sassafrass</span> off of York St. Apparently the restaurant was the talk of the town because Oprah ate there the week earlier during the Film Festival.


Now when I tell you this is one of the best meals I have EVER eaten in my life, I am not exaggerating. We groaned our was thru the entire meal.....The food was excellent and the service was unbelievable. The experience was worth every penny I had to part with - and it was alot of pennies for this place

The entrees pix contain shots of my collegues so I wont post those. But I had the most perfectly done Alberta beef Tenderloin with lobster confit of some sort...my memory is failing me at the moment. Sorry but I have never had a steak that good even in Alberta.

Desserts was surreal as well.

1.In house ice cream: coconut, mango, buttermilk.
2.Then an apple plate: apple panna cotta, apple dumplings with madagascar cinnamon and apple pie with apple ice cream. 3.And then of course a dark chocolate mousse....orgasmic I tell you

One my favorite things in the whole wide world...cashmere If I hadnt spent a pile of money on the conference itself I would have went in to purchase a sweater

The name of a bar accross the street from the Marriott is the <span style="font-weight: bold">Spotted Dick</span>



which was right next to the <span style="font-weight: bold">Institute of Chartered Accountants </span>
