This is one of the funkiest bars I've ever been in...from what I've heard, Captain Tony (RIP) was one of those especially quirky Key West characters...what was once a letch became a legend!













if I remember correctly, this tree was once the site of public hangings

We successfully completed the crawl just in time for the sunset....stopped at a place called Alonzo's, shared some more appetizers and got a pound of peel and eat Key West pink shrimp and some sides to go, then giggled all the way home

Our home for those couple days was the Hyatt Beach House...it's a really nice place, but the only downside was it's location at the far end of the island from all the sights I've shown you so far... a $15-20 cab ride away...and it's a good thing it was a gift, because this place was waaaaaayyyy beyond our budget ....our room was a 2 bed, 2 bath apartment....

Sunday we went to the Sports Page to watch the Giants annihilate the Raiders (who are a truly dreadful football team)....then spent most of the game chatting with a couple of locals....

after, back to the Conch Republic for yet more food and drink....we ate <span style="font-weight: bold">so</span> much wonderful fish that weekend....mahi-mahi, cobia, tuna, hogfish, lotsa conch fritters, lotsa shrimp, smoked fish dip, etc, etc....somebody we were talking to kept raving about the steak sandwich at a place called Pepe's, and all I could think was steak is the <span style="font-weight: bold">last</span> thing I wanted to eat in Key West...

I wanted to get some cigars, so we went back to the Schooner Wharf Bar, another cool locals place, to get some hand rolleds from a guy we had seen there...
