New Orleans is still on my to-do list. One of 3 cities in USA, only been to one of them so far.... (San Francisco). New York is the other one, and one area - Sedona.

SO after much twisitng and turning and winding and walking I arrived at the Gumbo SHop, which I am told has the bomb gumbo

Yes it was VERY good. Better than the best gumbo I have found here in Memphis at a place called the Bayou.

I had them to call me a cab and proceeded to the airport and flew back here. I was back home by 5:30 having had a very nice day in New Orleans.

I have to say their airport needs a lot of work. Sangster has them beat by a country mile.

It was my first time flying in the SRJ 900 , and it is a sweet little plane. LOVED IT....


Nice little 54 minute flight back and I am back in Memphis...would do it again in a heartbeat, but next time, I will check out the garden district on Seveen's recommendation.

I saw a thriving and bustling city that showed no signs of Katirna....then again, I didn't go looking for that, as they do still have the &quot;Katrina&quot; tour. I do realize I was in the tourist district, and not the 9th ward. But from what I can see..New Orleans is well on her way back .

At lunch I eavesdropped on conversations and there was big time business being discussed, lots of folks in town for conventions, full plane in and out. I think she's gonna be ok, just will take time.

Marielle that is my idea, visit cites and report on them. You have to do NO , it has a heartbeat. When you get ready for Memphis let me know.

I loved this, she was painted on wood. I loose track of the street names, but as you are walking around, at one point you end up in what you KNOW is the high rent district. The shops are larger and the merchandise just LOOKS expensive. There are lots of art galleries and fabulous antiques and chandaliers to DIE FOR.
