Attempting to dance with the choir



I did pretty good...doesn't look it from this picture but based on the fact the folks brought stuff to put in my hand while I was dancing, I think I did OK.

It was time to leave Rakai, Uganda and we were surprised with many gifts from the church.

Thanks for reading Ms Exced. I am convinced that most Jamaicans were taken from Uganda. The place and the people reminded me so much of JA. They eat the same foods and have the same style of cooking. I would move there in a flash. </div></div>

I love driving thru Uganda because the red of the earth, the green of the plantains and the blue of the sky is so bright it's unreal.

But it doesn't remind me of Jamaica though.
For one, they slice their plantains across and not lengthwise.

Tuesday night after service and dinner, Bishop Charles and his board members came to the hotel to meet us and tell us about his expansion plans. Very informative meeting but we were tired and needed to get a good night's rest for what we thought was a 9 hour drive to Nakuru Kenya.

Final night in my netted bed.



The bus was supposed to be at the hotel at 9 a.m. for a 10 a.m. departure so we would be Kenya by 7:00 p.m. Yeah right. I was scheduled to be the opening speaker in Kenya as well so I was looking forward to arriving with enough time to get a good night's rest....yeah right.

While waiting for the bus to arrive, one of the hotel staff told me I could get a shot of the Lake Victoria from the top floor of the hotel. It was a lovely view.

Finally the bus arrived at 1 p.m. After loading the many suitcases it was time to take off for Kenya. We departed at 2:16 p.m. Quick math and that meant we would arrive at around 11-11:30...yeah right.

This one made me sad. The water here is very polluted. The people have been warned not to use the water here however they still do.

The roads were very rough with potholes in potholes. After a while the team being tired from the previous days and the bumpy ride fell asleep. I couldn't sleep and I found out why as the nine hour (yeah right) journey continued into the night.

Pics aren't all that great as the ride was very bumpy.

Pastor Ken, one of the interpreters. He's amazing. He was able to translate and keep up with me when I preached. A task in itself.
