Where are the places you really want to visit in your lifetime?

First on my list is New Zealand.
Mostly to hug up my good good friend Kiwi. [img]/forums/images/graemlins/70459-hugs.gif[/img] Also because I have seen some spectacular photos from there.
Australia would be second. Koalas, Kangaroos. The outback.

I agree about New Zeland and Australia. THe other place I have always wanted to see is the Galapagos Islands! [img]/forums/images/graemlins/70377-loveeyes.gif[/img]

We've been there numerous times already but never get a chance to get of the plane. I want to see their Chinese fishing nets....

I would have loved to see Ozzie win, he certainly earned it. Plus he's young, not a lot of money... Yul is a lawyer.
But Yul played a great game too, so he earned it as well.. I really enjoyed this season.

Q.K. Well, Papua New Guinea is famous as the only place left in the world where there are still "un-discovered" tribes of people. [img]/forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif[/img] And I don't mean that in a demeaning way. They are new tribes in hard to access places near the Sepik River that a research expedition "finds" once in a while. Whether they eat rice an peas or QK and Magic is yet to be seen. [img]/forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif[/img] I would be careful not to end up as anyone's lunch thou! [img]/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif[/img]

QK, don't be frightened by new places. They have some very nice hotels in all these places that I've mentioned. Believe me, some of these hotels are much much nicer than a Holiday Inn and often times at a very affordable rate.

NH is pretty in all seasons when you get up in the white mountains. I'd honestly, someday, love to have the time and $$$ to drive about the whole country and see what every state has to offer.
I just picked up a book for my brother for xmas called "Weird New England"
He loves to poke around on his days off and see the local sites. This book tells about all the strange places in the area, like haunted towns, secret populations of "Frog People", ancient stone structures. "The Jesus Door" "Woods Devils" "The Champlain Monster"

They also have one called Weird U.S.

To save you time an money you can skip Indiana, Ohio, Illinois (except Chicago), Iowa, Nebraska, Mississippi, most of Arkansas (except Ozarks), and Kansas.

Of all those states Iowa must be the most boring state of the entire nation. The only interesting part of Iowa is right at the western edge in Council Bluffs. I think God did that to spite Iowans, put interesting stuff rigth at the edge to tease them. [img]/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif[/img]

The most interesting state... would have to go with Cali. It's just got the most variety. Sea, fertile flats, snow capped mountains, desert, ancient forrests, big cities. Yup Cali takes the cake. [img]/forums/images/graemlins/70409-waytogo.gif[/img]

I've been thru Pennsylvania, Ohio and Indiana on my way to Illionois. PA was pretty, saw nuff corn & train yards in Ohio & Indiana.
Been to Utah, Idaho & Wyoming, though just a little of each back in the 80s. I've also driven to Florida, but without any interesting stops in between.
Whenever I think of driving across the south, I think of that song about the long haired guy who got a flat somewhere and ran into all the red-necks... [img]/forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif[/img]

So many places I hope to see...some are must see and trips already planned and mapped out...this year the toss up is between New Zealand, or South America.

Place that I would love to go in the next 5 years are New Zealand, Australia, Ghana, Gambia, Senegal, Ethiopia, South Africa...South America...particularly, Argentina, Peru, Ecuador, Colombia. Vietnam seem appealing, Cambodia for the smiling Bhuddas, Thailand, Malayasia, India particularly Mysore and the southern India where Rajaraja built those magnificient temples which the western world shunned for many years because of the sexual sculptures.

We still talk of doing the grand daddy of motorcycle trip from this side of the Mississippi down to California, through Mexico into Belize, Guatemala straight down to Panama and entering South America from Colombia all the way down to the Patagonia...end of the trip, we sell the bike and plane ride it back to the US. My husband just waiting for me to take 6 months off from work for us to do it! One day...

I also have 25 hours in London, but I've seen all there is to see there and will be stricktly making a trip to Brixton to stock up on Stripe, Ting, Banana Porridge, Wibisco cookies, and such delikes! [img]/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img]

Ill tag along on most of the place magic and sandi F stated.... they all are on the list.....

for now im really interested in SE Asia... Vietnam... Burma(myramar)...Laos, Indonesia.... but new guinea.. wow magic yes.... and i want one of those masks too.. incredible...

next stop outside of jamaica this winter.. will be Morocco in April.....

hope to go to SE Asia for my 50th next fall..
