We almost drove across the Algerian border without knowing it. If it wasn;t for some kids running after the car, waving their hands, and screaming. "Zone Milit-air, zone militaire." Not speaking French we were not paying attention, but that one there was close enough to English for us to get the idea!

((dajah)) egypt is a must for me too.. my son went there two years ago.. stayed for several weeks and it was one of his highlights of his trip....

it is a major ting fi mi.
There is nowhere pan de earth I want see more.
I've been studying Egypt fe years and mi jus need fi get de full visual now. Aftah dat it's West Coast Africa.

Mofire.. Magic..... there is a town not on the Algerian border.. but heading that way.. Bourafa or something like that.. a friend went and recommended it... but its such a far drive.. i think im gonna skip it and do more intensive travel in a few areas....

Morocco seems like the kind of place i'll surely go to more than once...

Dajah.. i'm with you.. Egypt, West Africa surely on the tops of my list... but i have so many places im eager to go... got that traveling bug... heck of a disease

Good for you Nina... I also see me and likkle Mo returning to Morocco many times in our lives together.. it was a magical and wonderful country.

I have decided to take March Break off (which I have never done), and the natural idea would be to shoot dung a JA with Likkle Mo to visit family, however, perhaps Guatemala might be a nice short trip.... hmmm, Nina - you have any info on lodgings or places fe stay??

id go to antigua to start... and go from there..
or to lake aititlan area.. if you have a week you cant make too many plans..

funny im trying to decide on going back to ja next month.. and at the same time i want to go back to guatemala or go somewhere new .. even in the caribbean... im torn from seeing friends and familiar people who are my family there.. and going somewhere new..

i vote for somewhere new ! ! i almost couldn't take a picture there this trip 'cause i think i've seen everything in everyone else's trip report - do Egypt and watch out for the perfume vendors - wait for Jamaica to scream for you [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/70459-hugs.gif[/img]

jamaica will be surprisingly the same when you get there
except for Sangster's Airport - WOW

and Mombassa Kenya reminded me of a bigger Negril - just down the road a bit from Egypt

My gosh Nina... you do take spectacular pictures!!

As I mentioned to Magic, Likkle Mo and I have been trying to get to Egypt for the past two Novembers (when we usually take our "big" trip each year), and due to bombings in areas we would be travelling, and the "trouble across the water" we have not gone. I wanted to do Egypt, and then scootch over to Isreal and Jordan as a side trip. With Magic's tips, I know Jordan is do-able, but Isreal may be more tricky. After your current pics of Egypt for Dahjah, China is bumped back to #2, and Egypt is back up to #1 (with the side trip to Jordan)....

Dahjah.... Whe yu deh?? You have fe come wid me an likkle Mo...We live in the same city an mi nuh see yu face one time yet... but mi would let yu come wid us to Egypt still King! No Problem!

Seveen... yes, Jamaica for me too would just be a side trip fe tek Likkle Mo to visit har family dem. Guatemala seems out of reach for that small time due to really expensive flights from here. In Jamaica we have our own house so our only expense is the flights.... makes it more do-able, not necessarily more preferable.
