I would love to learn to photograph silhouettes....mine in particular. How do you get the perfect shot? Is it a dark foreground versus a light background? What angle is best?

You'll need the light to be coming from BEHIND the subject. Look at any sunset pic with people in it and you'll see what I mean.
Stand in front of a sunny window. sheer drapes will soften the light.
If you use indoor lighting, you'll need to be sure your flash is turned off.
As far as angle? Depends on the look, Play with it. Broadside would be my guess if you're looking for a profile.
