descendents of West African slaves that live on the barrier island off the coast of Georgia - well known for their rice production - they have a form of "patois" that called geechee

some friends of mine are coming down at the end of April and renting a house at the beach - it will be blazing here by then

I thought it might be St A...we drove to Disney a couple of years back and slipped off-route to St A on the way down...I was NOT going all the way to Florida without putting a toe in the ocean [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif[/img]

We drove through St A itself (cool town) then hit the beach a few miles south of it, I think...I thought it was cool that you could drive on the beach there. We had some clams, dipped our toes in, walked the sand a bit then headed on to Orlando.

you can still drive on the beach

and it's nice to do it when it's not tourist season

we take a lunch, fish and watch for the dolphins
