spent 2 nights in Ouarzazate and we were back in Marrakech, then back on the road to the atlantic coastal town Essaouria which is 2 hrs drive west of Marrakech. Goats feasting off an argan tree. Argan tree popular for its argan oil... the goats love it

Bob Marley music shop. The guy had lots of pics of Bob living in Trench town, Hope Rd and England.. I was the first Jamaican he has ever met.

the medina is definitely a way of life for Moroccans..in some ways it reminded me of being in Princess St ... you found everything here.


Public oven... people still brought their prepared dough here for baking. I think that's what I like about this country...they still kept with traditional lifestyle while many have emerged into a more modern world. Morocco gained Independence at least 10 years before Jamaica but I find that we are way ahead of them in technology and many other things...

last couple days we were back in Marrakech; meeting with friends, shopping, eating..chatting up people on the street and just plain hanging out. Last day before I flew out we drove to Casablanca. The only attraction in Casa is the mosque.. the city is huge and dirty and the mosque was a nice place to visit.




Last day and heading to airport. I had a hard time (again) with Morocco immigration.


The traveling adventure for 2012... Germany to visit families...maybe Barcelona... hopefully Turkey.

This is a great photo. See the snow-covered Atlas mountains? It's what this area is famous for, the snow on the top and the villages with kasbah in the valleys...

Not sure what those ridges are for tho....

Sandi, I am loving your trip report and photos!

Brings up so many memories - been in Morocco - (Tangier/Meknes) Marrakesh and Essaouira - hope to see the photos of that amazing place!!

We did the local bus between Marrakesh and Essaouira...

Ouazzarzate (sp?) is still on my &quot;to-do&quot; list....

Could also relate to your experiences at Casablanca airport, we fly via there to Bamako. (cheapest deal).
There's some nice Morrocan stuff shops to browse around. Only one cafe tho (in transit)....

at least the loos are western

ChurchDude and SistaC ... The hole in th floor toilet is something I'll never get used to. Interestingly, most establishments cater to locals who are used to the hole in the floor and the western loo

Marielle... Next time I'm back in Morocco, I'd like to visit Agadir and spend more time in Fes.

I saw the hole in the floor while in barcelona It was very clean

It was one of those coin operated ones that had a timer and if you are not out in a certain time the entire room starts to get washed down with water and disinfectant \0/

my first and last time in one of those bathrooms.

They have the hole in the ground here too... When we had a a layover at the airport in Chennai on the way to Sri Lanka - the Airport had the holes and I refuse to use them...
