Elliott's has a progressive oyster happy hour.....starting at 3PM, oysters are 50 cents each.....and then every half hour, they go up 20 cents each.....

DDave...sorry that we didnt ahve more time to try to get together. Weekends for us lately are filled with baseball of the 11 year old boy kind. Kept us busy most the weekend. If I had made it over...this picture below is the mode of travel I would have taken....Washington State Ferries. An hour boat ride from where I live and I am in downtown Seattle.



Good to see that we gave you some great weather while you were here. Helps to kill the stereotype that all it does is rain here. Glad you enjoyed your trip...I am RELLY enjoying the pictures!

Q, I'll be the first to admit that I know absolutely nothing about the economics of the Jamaican fishing industry....but I'd be willing to bet that the reason the fish are so expensive to buy in Seattle is because they're so expensive to catch [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif[/img] ...and, yeah, I'd heard that whalewatching can be done out there, but we simply didn't have the time...our schedule for the weekend was something like this:

Friday- wake up, eat, some sightseeing, ballgame

Saturday- same as Friday

Sunday- wake up, ballgame, eat

Monday- wake up, go to airport, fly home

Compry, there may have been some Tabasco on the table, but these bivalves didn't need it....they were plenty delicious on their own....briny, but still slightly sweet.....I didn't really care for the red wine vinegar granita that was served along side (see the little silver cup in the middle of the plate)

Tdude.... sure, we got some ribbing from the Ozzies about our Yankee gear, but it was all in good fun....I hafta tell you, the people of Seattle could not have been friendlier [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/70409-waytogo.gif[/img] even in the ballpark.....in fact, many of the Ozzies seemed pleasantly surprised that we'd go all that way for a couple of ballgames....thanks for the heads up re:Capital Hill, Fremont....Pioneer Square was way too much fun!!!

Hi Wanda!! you'd be surprised how inexpensive our airfare was....the 5 hour flight to Seattle cost less than our 3 hour flight to Jamaica....
