Did you notice that not only did I remove your signature, but all the cars, the telephone poles and the wires, and the Stop sign. I reconstructed the building behind the signs, and rebuilt the big orange sign on the other side of the road. Is it still a "stolen" photograph?
I worked in advertising long ago. Back then much of the illustrations and fancy typefaces that you found in newspaper advertising were created by "swiping" the images or type styles from advertisements that had appeared in the past by different advertisers. "Swiping" wasn't as awful back then as "stealing" is today. "Swiping" meant that you copied by photographing, but then you changed what you had swiped, into what you wanted to promote. These "swipes" were filed too, so they could be used again.
