Well, I NEED to have a camera that will take macro shots because of the jewelry and beads and stuff. Plus I love to play. I wish I could access the photos on my old computer, I need to get around do getting them rescued. I have lots of grasshoppers and caterpillars and bees and all sorts of goodies on it! grrrr.

Enneyway, here's some more flowers. I took all the pics I've been posting with my beloved Nikon Coolpix 4500 (RIP). My new Olympus takes Ok macro but not like these!

I just love macro cause you can see things in the photos that your eyes just don't see, especially on things like bugs and the sex parts of flowers.

Oh...and the purple mushroom? I don't know what kind it is but it is cute and very tiny!

I hope you all keep posting macro pics cause I love lookin at em so get busy, lol!

Well loopsie, it is pretty hard to use a tripod for flowers because of angles and such so mostly you need a steady hand. I've tried but it's just more hassle than it's worth. I think on your camera you can use both manual and auto but not sure. Auto is probably easiest without a tripod, and either early morning or evening light but not too dark or there goes your focus. Try different angles too. Straight on might not look as good as a side view and such. Just play around. Yeah, I know, like we have time to play, lol.

Do you still have your manual? It should give you a range for macro settings, wish I knew for sure what camera model you have... I would look it up on the digicam website. Anyway, see what the range is and in that range you should be able to get a clear shot. Use that halfway button and get the shot in focus and then if you keep your hand steady you should have some luck.
It takes a lot of practice. Try doing what Dudie did and sit with some objects that are stationary, like on a table top for practice. Of course, if there is a breeze and the flowers are moving you won't get a clear shot because macro is very sensitive to movement.
