We back from our annual trek in the fall foliage...a beautiful crisp fall weekend. This year, we headed to the Moosehead Lake area. My brother got us a great deal at a classic northwoods sporting lodge. It's been years since we've been here, and the cabins have changed very little, but the lodge has expanded with a marvelous restaurant. Classic log cabins on the shore of the lake, the 2nd largest lake in maine.

we also visited our friend who's the Park Manager at Lily Bay State Park...saw a "local" on the way in.



he took us for a boat ride in the vast vast lake...brrrrrrrrrr it was colllllllllllllld.



from there, we headed back into the woods...many roads we drove on were 20 miles on roads like these...through the wilderness.







like all that wasn't relaxing enuf....i took the day off yesterday to rest in the gardens...will have a few shots of the late season bloomers later. Right now, i need to shower, and head to work...yuck.
