After 12 years of avoiding Mexico like the plague, we decided "what the hey" & booked a week-long trip to Akumal, Mexico. We've done Cancun too many times to count & really didn't want/need that much excitement so we headed South (about 2 hours) from Cancun to the Mayan Riviera...

A hazy morn with fishing boats docked waiting for fishermen to go out to sea...

But, what a spendid afternoon it turned out to be...

Well, leave it to Kojak to scope out the Bars @ ABR...The Main Lobby Bar which believe it or not, opened at 8 A.M. [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/eek2.gif[/img]

The Moonrise Beach Bar...Kojak & Carlos figuring who is the strongest [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif[/img]

Every afternoon we'd stroll down to the Lol-Ha Restaurant & Bar on Akumal Bay...this day we met up with some boardies from locogringo.com - I "think" we're having FUN [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/dance01.gif[/img]

Lol-Ha even had Appleton Rum...now, dat's cool [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/70409-waytogo.gif[/img] Even though we stuck with Sol, Modelo Especial & Rojo Mezcal

If you walked to the South of the resort, you came to Jade Bay...this was rockier than Akumal Bay, so it's a good thing I packed watershoes...unfortunately Kojak is too cool to even think of wearing them. Trust me, he paid for it dearly...

Here are a few of the rental properties on Jade Bay...not too shabby...

These look very promising...


Bird kinda blended in the jungle-like foliage of the resort...he sure like to squawk!!!
