Be sure to take in Tulum sometime. It was quite an experience. We (my daughter and I) had a guide and it was very informative. If you go there without a guide, you might just find someone with a group and ask if you can tag along for a small fee. Also google Tulum ahead of time so you get a feel for why it exists.
