Residents in the vicinity of Port Antonio in Portland yesterday alerted the police to what they believed was a serious case of oil spill, however, it turned out to be sea weed canvassing sections of the water. Officers at the Port Antonio Marine Police told the Jamaica Observer that the spread of sea weed occurs every year after a bout of bad weather and may have been a direct result of the recent weather conditions in North America.
