KINGSTON, Jamaica - Opposition spokesman on Finance and Planning, Audley Shaw, today said that the recent statement by the co-chairman of the government's EPOC Committee, Richard Byles, in which he stated that "EPOC will have to assess the reasons for a decline in exports," reveals a frightening lack of understanding on Byles' part of the workings of the Jamaican economy, and in particular, the impact of the depreciating dollar on exports.
