JAMAICA Observer online readers have reacted with outrage to Government's announcement of an increase in fares to ride Jamaica Urban Transit Company buses. The increases, which will take effect on Sunday, will see adult fares moving from $100 to $120; fares for students and the disabled increasing to $30 from $20; and senior citizens' fares moving from $20 to $60. The readers are particularly upset about how senior citizens will be impacted. Here are some edited comments:
