In the article entitled "No bail for man accused of threatening wife" published Thursday September 11, 2014, it was reported that attorney-at-law John Clarke, when questioned whether his client was of sound mind, assured the court that he was okay mentally. It has been brought to the attention of Jamaica Observer that this actual response to the court was that he does not know. When pressed by the judge, he reminded the court that he is a minister of justice and that he is not a counsellor. He further went on to say that he had spoken with the accused the day before. They had a long conversation and from his response, he seemed upset but was overall okay. We regret the error and apologise for any inconvenience caused to Mr Clarke.
