Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller (left) and minister of youth and culture Lisa Hanna present the Portia Simpson Foundation scholarship awardee McCoy McNish with his award at the Ministry of Youth and Culture/Child Development Agency Educational Achievement Awards Ceremony at the Terra Nova Hotel on Friday. The scholarship has allowed McCoy to accept a place as a first-year medical student at the University of the West Indies. Forty-four children in State care received awards at the ceremony for outstanding academic performance in CSEC and CAPE exams this year.
