Qingxiang Zhu (seated left), director of Xinhua News Agency's Caribbean office, and Vernon Davidson, executive editor - publications, Jamaica Observer, sign a news share agreement between both media houses at the Jamaica Observer headquarters in Kingston last week. Witnessing the signing with delight are (from left) Chinese Ambassador to Jamaica Dong Xiaojun, Observer Managing Director Danville Walker, and Observer Executive Editor - Operations Karl Angell. The agreement gives the Observer full access to Xinhua's international news and photo service, from which the Observer will publish two pages each Sunday, while the Chinese news agency will provide a link to the Jamaica Observer website in the stories it publishes from the Observer.
