Magnitude 7.1 quake strikes off PNG, Solomon Islands
SYDNEY, Australia (AFP) – A 7.1 magnitude earthquake struck in the Pacific between Papua New Guinea and the Solomon Islands on Thursday, but a tsunami threat passed and there were no reports of major damage, seismologists said.
