Melonie McBean, chef/owner of Taffri's Delight, uses the traditional method of blowing on lit coal to help the fire spread as she prepares to fry fritters last Saturday at Market Place, the Sat'day shopping experience staged by the Jamaica Cultural Development Commission (JCDC) in Kingston. The event, which saw the section of Hope Road between King's House and Ardenne Road transformed into a market, was one of the activities on the JCDC's Emancipation and Independence calendar.
