It gives one no comfort to be a Jeremiah in this respect. But the truth and reality is that the American homeland is in danger. Terrorists can strike at any time and in any place they choose. They only have to be successful once in carrying out a tragic act. It is just a matter of the horrendous nature of the act. All law-abiding citizens and the authorities that act on their behalf have to be correct 100 per cent of the time. Once the terrorist is successful in a “soft” or “hard” target, it will have achieved its objective of spreading fear which is the logical outcome of all acts of terrorism.
