Residents of Billy’s Bay in Treasure Beach, St Elizabeth, recently erected this sign welcoming visitors. It was witnessed by newly elected Member of Parliament for South West St Elizabeth, Floyd Green, (fifth right, standing), from left Jason Henzell of Jakes and Tony Freckleton, former South Coast Resort Board Chairman, TPDCo’s Regional Manager Lezley Bernard (fourth right standing), representatives of the Compete Caribbean organisation and community members. The sign was designed, fabricated and installed by the community. Financing was provided by the Tourism Product Development Company (TPDCo). Residents say they are now working on their Hip Strip and attracting bed and breakfast business online which “represents community tourism at its best”.
