Minister of Energy, Science & Technology Andrew Wheatley observes with interest as Jamaica Public Service (JPS) President and CEO Kelly Tomblin demonstrates how her electric car is charged up. JPS sees the move towards the electric car as a positive on many fronts – not least of which is its benefit to the environment since electric cars give off zero emissions. The demonstration took place at the Bogue Power Plant in Montego Bay, which was recently converted to use Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG). LNG will be arriving in Jamaica in August this year, after which the plant will begin using environmentally friendly fuel
