The Minister of Health Dr Christopher Tufton continues to parade with copious photo-ops and make grandfather promises. This while the country faces a Zika epidemic and potential parents squirm at the thought of a possibly having a child with microcephaly, and dread the thought of poor support for the special needs of these children after. The significant increase in the number of Guillain-Barre Syndrome cases cannot be overlooked, as the cost for management and the potential impact on life provide a scare of its own. Many see the media proclamations as the key to transparency while not understanding that the cogs of health care are close to being at a standstill.
