MANY of the island's HIV and other STI prevention programmes are being stymied by violence meted out to women by their male spouses, and this should not be the case, urged Angela Clarke, representative from rights group, Woman Incorporated (Woman Inc) Speaking with the Jamaica Observer yesterday, Clarke said that in many cases women - especially those from inner-city communities - are forced to avoid contraceptives, especially condoms.
