P'more woman could sue over $48m water bill

THE Portmore woman who received a $48 million dollar bill in error from the National Water Commission (NWC) over the weekend says she may consider legal action against the water company.
Hortense Hall was left stunned over the weekend after she received the bill for an actual reading at the premises she owns in Portmore, St Catherine
Hall said she received the bill for her July consumption by email from the NWC.
The utility has since acknowledged that the bill was sent to Hall in error. But the act has still left Hall fuming.
"The idea of legal action is something I am entertaining," said Hall.
She said that she would seek the advice of friends and family about the incident which, she said, left her on the brink of a nervous breakdown.
