The appearance of a black Stormtrooper in the first trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens, caused quite a stir on social media over the weekend.
And the actor at the centre of the controversy, John Boyega, appeared to subtly address the situation on Saturday.
'To whom it may concern... Get used to it,' the 22-year-old Brit wrote cryptically in an Instagram post.

The young man was most likely responding to abusive comments posted online following his debut in the 88-second teaser trailer, where he takes off his mask in what appears to be the desert of Tatooine.
The inclusion of a black Stormtrooper in the seventh installment of the franchise became so controversial that it led to the hashtag #blackstormtrooper to surge as a trending topic on Twitter, leading to some writing overtly racist statements.
Most of the comments were on Reddit and Twitter, according to the Atlantic.

Boyega, however, is mostly pleased with the reception he has received so far from fans, writing: 'Thank you for all the love and support!
'The fan mail and fan art has added to my joy! Isn’t is crazy that Star Wars is actually happening? I’m in the movie but as a star wars fan I am very excited! A year is a long time but it will be worth the wait.'
Meanwhile, returning cast-members Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher were absent from the 88-second montage, giving fans a first look at the younger generation featured in the new film.

Opening some 30-years after Return of the Jedi, the teaser kicks off with Boyega racing across a desert landscape dressed in full Stormtrooper regalia.
The new trailer played in 30 selected cinemas across the United States from Friday until Sunday November 30 - after which it will screen in cinemas across the globe.
Star Wars: Episode VII: The Force Awakens goes on general release nationwide on December 18, 2015.
