A Brooklyn cop involved in the squadcar shenanigans that landed a fellow officer in the hospital has been suspended, officials said Tuesday.
The unidentified cop behind the wheel of a police cruiser as his brother in blue rode the hood in a joyride through Kensington on Monday was forced to surrender his badge and gun, officials said.
The NYPD’s Internal Affairs Bureau was investigating the incident, officials said. The name of the suspended officer was not immediately released.
The two cops were palling around on Seton Pl. near Parkville Ave. at about 7:50 a.m. when the cop started driving the squad car while the other clung to the hood.
When the police cruiser stopped short, the car-surfer slipped off the hood, stumbled and fell backward, hitting his head on the ground.
The injured cop was taken to Lutheran Medical Center, where he is expected to recover.
