Jamaica has been recording a steady decline in the number of returning residents over the past five years.
The latest Economic and Social Survey of Jamaica, released Tuesday, shows the number of returning residents fell from 1,134 in 2010 to 762 last year.
However, the data published by the Planning Institute of Jamaica (PIOJ) show more Commonwealth and non-Commonwealth persons are moving here.
Just under 3,500 commonwealth citizens moved to Jamaica in 2010 compared with 3,507 last year.
There was a significant jump in the number of non-commonwealth citizens relocating to the island.
In 2010, the figure stood at 1, 275 but moved to 8,174 last year.
The number of deportees declined from 2,800 in 2010 to just under 2,000 in 2014.
