Jacob Thompson.The face of rugby in Jamaica, Rugby Union chairman Jacob Thompson is dead.
His body was found at his home in Calabar Mews in Kingston on Thursday with stab wounds to his chest.
According to police items are missing from Thompson's home, but there are no signs of forced entry.
Last month he was awarded a national badge of honour for years of dedication to the sport, he has served since 1969.
National head coach Conrad O'mally is concerned about the effects of his passing on the fraternity.
"Some of us are kind of blank as to what will happen to rugby in the next few years from now. His passing is damaging to the growth and development of rugby," he said.
