Bristol Palin has paid $172,000 (£111,000) <span style="font-weight: bold">in cash </span>for a five-bedroom house in Arizona.
The 20-year-old daughter of former Republican vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin was the sole purchaser of the home just south of Phoenix.
She picked up a bargain as the property was previously sold for nearly $330,000 (£250,000) in 2006.
Miss Palin is thought to be considering enrolling as a student at Arizona State University, possibly for a broadcasting course.
