It was a case of bitter-sweet revenge for a Portmore, St Catherine woman, who is said to have given an already seriously injured 19-year-old man a proper beating while accusing him of raping her daughter.
Information reaching THE STAR is that the teenager was seriously beaten after getting caught red-handed as he attempted to break into a house in Waterford in Portmore.
The man is said to have ran through sections of the community as he tried to escape the hold of an angry mob which was hot on his heels. He was eventually held in a gully, taken out and severely beaten.
It is said that after being set upon by a group of men who used everything in their reach to hit him, the youngster was laying on a sidewalk as a large crowd gathered to look on.
As news of the beating spread throughout the community, more and more persons came to the scene. However, one woman seemed a bit emotional as upon seeing the man, broke down into tears.
As persons around her began to wonder if she was related to the injured man, and even tried to console her, she suddenly bellowed, "a him rape mi dawta". The woman is said to have then began kicking the injured man while still crying. She also reportedly used a piece of metal to strike him several times before being held by a group of persons.
"Is like di woman feel it when she see him, she start bawl out and seh a him rape har dawta. Di woman did a cry living eye water and a bawl out. Afta dat she jus get wild and start fling some lick pon him," one eyewitness told THE STAR.
The Waterford police said they have received a number of complaints about the teenager who is alleged to be linked to a number of break-ins in the community in recent months. The police confirmed he is also a suspect in the rape of an 11-year-old girl more than six months ago.
They said residents have reported losing clothings only to go in another section of the community and see the teen wearing them.
The teen was described as 'slippery' as he has reportedly managed to escape a number of efforts by residents to catch him. "Yu know how long dem a try ketch da bway deh. Him did have Waterford under siege, people fraid fi lef dem house. Long run short ketch, dem seh," a resident said.
