Canada, Bahamas added to cargo suspension list

CANADA and The Bahamas have been added to the list of countries to which the United States has suspended cargo flights from Jamaica.
The 72-hour suspension — implemented after a bomb scare yesterday —<span style="font-weight: bold"> also affects flights from Jamaica to the United States.</span>The Jamaica Civil Aviation Authority (JCAA) says it is monitoring the situation.
“Under the suspension, no cargo or duty free items will be allowed from Jamaica to the United States. Air cargo operations to Canada and the Bahamas are also affected under the suspension,” the JCAA said in a news release this afternoon.
A team from the US Transport and Safety Administration will be working with he JCAA to review the country’s safety measures.
