Advances in translation apps seem to have snowballed since Google set the benchmark earlier this year. Transfire is the latest addition to the field and it enables real time translation for Google Chat in more than 50 languages for the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch.
“In a conversation between an English language speaker and a Japanese language speaker, the app would translate all incoming messages to English for the English language speaker, and all outgoing messages to Japanese”
