The way Janet dances so hard I can forgive her for lip singing, you can't do both without sounding terrible vocally. I loved her cotume changes and the whole format of her shows.

Sounds like we went to the same show except Maryland, DC and Virginia hated Al. B Sure all I can remember from his 2 seconds was that he wore loafers without any socks. His voice started cracking and everybody boo'ed him right off the stage. I know he had the sense to not come back out. Well I did go see Bob and then I went and saw Peter Tosh. Those two will always stick out for me.

Saw many more as well over the years but how can you top those?

from listening to those three songbirds to being able to lissen to dem up close and as up close as i wanted to be

Best show I ever saw hands down was Jane's Addiction at the Ritz.

This band just spoke to me and all my friends, we were surfing, skating, and snowboarding to their music for a whole summer and winter it was our soundtrack. When they hit town we were just prime for it. It was the first time I was ever in a slam dance pit, which started before they even hit the stage the whole audience just erupted and it was the first time my little brother was old enough to go to a show. I lost my shoe in the seething mess of people, my shirt was torn, and the only thing that kept me up on my one foot- I refused to put the other down- was the fact I was soldily pressed inbetween a few hundred people...the crowd surged this way and that way and when I finally put my foot down, incredibly it was on top of the shoe I lost.

Other noteworthy shows:

Primus.

Alice In Chains.

Tool.

A summer reggae show at Coney Island, noteworthy not so much for the performances, which all sucked, but more for the people and the crowd and the food and everything. The performers, like Capleton, jumped up on stage, did about 15 seconds of each song, then stopped the song and went on. Rumors of gunshots caused a stampede, and I picked up this little kid and we ran with everyone else from side to side, eventually we found his dad who had been worried sick that he had gotten trampled.

Henry Rollins.

Public Enemy, Ice T, and Onyx, at Roseland.

Vision of Disorder at Wetlands. About 100 people, surprise show. Collected my friends and off we went, lost a cross my dad had given me in the pit.

Ministry at some dive bar on L.I.

Buju Banton at a joint in Farmingville.

Beastie Boys at Nassau Coliseum. They were selling general admission floor tickets, sold them out so we bought seats. As soon as the B-Boys came on, we stormed the gates and went to the floor.

Rage Against the Machine.

Sizzla at the same spot.

Sizzla at the Jungle in Negril.

Bounty Killer at the Jungle.

Bounty Killer at Cauldwell Field in Hanover. This was the first time I ever heard people actually MIX gunshots with the DJ. That was pretty sick. Also saw this one guy, he had a loader with him...when he shot through his clip he passed his gun off to someone who handed him a loaded one so he didn't lose the beat.

Wu Tang at BB King's, and at Giants Stadium.

Dennis Brown - Stockholm 1989
Third World - Stockholm 1990
Bunny Wailer - Stockholm ?
Culture - Stockholm 1991 and 1993
Burning Spear - Stockholm 1992 and Uppsala 1994
and everyone performing at Uppsala Reggae Festival 2005-2007!
