it's so fantastic to claim to not know the origin of life but yet claim to know how life moved/evolved from a single organism to millions of different species...
the explanation given in this video is simplistic &amp; seemingly logical but fails greater investigation;
most genetic biologists will disagree that new species are formed due to mutations- which is the premise of the video;
if mutations formed new species then there should be a species of albinos, a species of people with cerebral palsey, a species of people with 6 toes, etc.
from what i know, new species are NOT formed by mutations...otherwise a man &amp; a chimp should be able to reproduce together with no problem, since their only biological difference would be a past mutation...
a human baby born with a mutation will still be able to reproduce with a normal human, no matter how far down the line it goes...

i would also be interested to see how he reconciles the idea of life diversity being a result of errors &amp; mutations along with natural selection...
the concept of natural selection implies some form of innate or learned intelligence

watching the related videos it is almost comical to see richard dawkins disagree with charles darwin that the eye was seemingly too complex to be the result of stage evolution...he overcomes darwin's skepticism by way of his 'reason'ing ability;

the fact is if one is determined to ascribe the complex forces of nature to a mysterious all-powerful god known as evolution, one can find a way to explain it...
they speak of 'evolution' as the all-knowing omnipotent force which fashioned all life...

notice they always say something like; &quot;evolution gave us thjis&quot; or &quot;evolution gave us that&quot;....or &quot;evolution caused us to go here or develop this or grow that&quot;....

you will notice evolution is always given a magiccal power...
yet this power can never be explained...they just say it <span style="font-style: italic">is</span>

A couple notions that might make it easier for you to understand why evolution has become the common understanding about how we all got here in this here and now.

Life... living survives, but not all mutations and not all species. It is survival of the fittest. And &quot;fitness&quot; means threats from everything... the weather, your neighbors, viruses, bacteria, your brother... and on and on.

These changes occurred over billions of years... and a billion is a big number. A thousand million years. Humans have been around for only 200,000 years. One-fifth of one million years. We have been writing things down for only 5,000 years. Technology has been around for decades. Pterosaurs were around for 135 million years. Daddy Long Legs spiders 200 million, and horseshoe crabs have been here pretty much unchanged for 450 million years. What are the chances of our species lasting for a million years? Imagine all of the changes the horseshoe crab has faced over those millions of years... and they endured. My little point is that immense periods of time are involved. And little changes, like in the video, over this immense time of our planet's existence, have produced the diversity that we humans are experiencing.

&quot;We&quot; being human beings. We became humans, in my opinion, when we started using verbs in our sentences, and began passing down vocabularies, and the names for things and events to the next generation.

I'm not sure what kind of proof would have value for you. It seems to me like evolution, and genetics, would have to be disproved for there to be room for a god to be responsible for creating human beings.

since when has evolution ever explained the origin of life...you are quick to strike 'god' (whatever you mean by that) as impossible
and you even seem to imply that evolution explains how life originated;
i hope you know that evolution has never explained the origin of life...
it only claims to explain the origin of <span style="font-style: italic">species</span>
once life came into existence;
you seem to not be able to digest the fact that the origin of life is unknown at this time;

eerily similar to religion-- i.e. accepting a premise without proof;

you are investing colloquial mannerisms with literalism. the word 'evolution' shouldn't be personified and there is no great mystery as to how it works, there's no &quot;magic&quot;.

species originate through several sometimes converging processes- natural pressures selecting traits that are passed down, mutations both large and small, etc.

a recent study of field mice shows this in effect. one mouse mutated to a more camoflauging color, less of his offspring get eaten by owls. more brown mice.

nature is such a female dog, any divinity that has a benevolent omnipotent claim made on it's behalf would instantly be convicted of immorality and pronounced unethical.

it's not possible to describe the very first living thing, I can only guess at what it *probably* was. i have no idea what relevance it's manner of reproduction is. early organisms didn't have peepees and vajayjos reproduction.

but we don't need to know what the very first organism was, we can clearly see lines of descent from complex to more simple. just like we can look at a road and say, wow, if we hop on this and choose the right way we can get from here to there.

you use evidence to make guesses which can be falsified, if they are not falsified then they are 'true' and become facts.

you accept as fact lots of things you never could understand or know what their very first iteration was.

your question makes no sense- it's like saying describe the very first nail.

it would seem to me that singular reproduction would be more efficient than couples...just wondering why the all-powerful natural selection would have 'chosen' (does evolution 'choose'?) to go that route-- when it already clearly 'knew' it could reproduce &amp; even develop into newer species all on its own, since it had done so before...
did it see the need for a companion?
sort of like a microscopic adam seeking an eve?
did it surmise that in the long run couples reproduction would be advantageous due to microcell division principles?
geez natural selection is very smart...

'cause i can...right now i see a bacteria, a man and a whale all co-existing...so obvioulsy the line of descent would go both ways-- unless some lines just chose to not descend-- chose to remain bacteria or other simple organisms...
