of course him sista vex bout di extra attention dat him getting...she a gi mi di silent, woe-begotten look dem wid di nuff sighs...ah sah...weneva i tek up dem lead dem know is walkies an run come dung di stairs to wait at the door fi mi attach di leads to dem collar...wen mi tek up juss his an go tru di door wid juss him.,oh lawd.....so from mi come bak she been stayin close beside me...dem dawgs r like children...mi haffi leave dem at the boarders in about three weeks n mi no know how mi a go manage fi dweet but mi haffi...mi a go go by dere widdout telling dem mi coming but dem stay dere before n the vet recommends dem

Try putting his pill into a small chunk of ripe banana... my dog LOVES banana for a treat -and it is good for them!




Re anal glands, check with your vet - they normally only expell when there is a problem ie dog dragging their butt on the carpet or ground, or if their poop is soft instead of firm.... (and when they do it make sure you are not in the room - it has got to be the most FOUL stench EVER known to man / womankind!

i took him to the vet today cause i was worried about him...i tried to give him the pill wid food but he was having none of it...ah sah...i had to give heart medicine once to a terrier n he ate the food away an spat out the pill...dis one was not so bad...

Evan Ijust went through the whole pill thing wid Tango couple moths ago.

I did the whole hide it in food thing an it neva work, him nyamm off all di cheese an spit out the pill.

What worked was juss hold him, open him mouth and shub enn di pill to di back a di throat, close the mouth and blow in him face, dat will work

chile mi a dis giving him di pill twice a day....mi sista seh she no like seh she n di dawg tekking di said type of pill...if di doc neva did gi me dem n did juss gi mi a prescription to fill, mi cudda did use some a fi har own him ovah di coach a sleep ...ah mi baby...imagine me pay likkle ova $100 fi go doctor n di vet fi dis likkle visit was $99...ah sah... but weh fi do wen dem get unda u skin...u hate fi see dem feeling off r anyting...mi a go watch him all nite since him tek di pill cause it is fi mek him relax so him a go sleep

It really burns me when the vets give these stupid big pills instead of liquid medicine! My last dog was very ill and could not open his mouth -not for water nor food, and I could not get his little mouth open so the expensive pills were a joke! An expensive one! The next vet gave a liquid which was much easier to get in with a little syringe.


Hope he rests and feels better in the morning!

Wonder if that would work for my son! He has difficulty swallowing large pills!

LOL SistahD! I can almost picture you trying that!

Good luck with the pill thing Vannie. I hope your baby is better soon. I wonder if he slipped off the table and hurt his little neck in the grooming noose.

Now, when you drop them off at the boarding place, I will tell you the same thing I suggested to Tanya...when you go, just walk away like you are leaving to the next room. All an emotional goodbye will do is give them something to wonder about, they will super sense something is about to go wrong...

Just turn around and leff, no goodbyes and alla that. It really is much better for them to do that.

my moxie takes 3 pills twice a day...morning and nite. i do the same thing tulip does....open mouth, stuff the pills back there as far as i can...close her mouth...then rub her throat. she doesn't often give me a hard time...occasionally she'll try to hide one in her side mouth, then spit it out when i'm not looking. grrrrrrrrrr. she gets a small bowl of yogurt after her pills go down.

so my soon to be 15 year old punkin is on thyroid meds, painkillers and cranberry capsules.

i'm sharing this because we've been on the cranberry/yogurt regimen since early spring...and her health has improved greatly. we almost lost her twice this winter to UTI infections...she hasn't had one since this new regimen...and everyone says she's looking great. If only she were more mobile...but hey, she's OLD

just an fyi if your pet is prone to urinary problems.

My Shar Pei mix is no longer having skin problems since we switched his food to Taste of the Wild Salmon. We add a spoon full or two of plain yogurt in the morning and a few squirts of salmon oil in the evening.

is there any fertiliser that is used on lawns that will not

affect pets...mi get mi monthly bill from di landscaper n him bill fi put fertiliser pon di grass..now i have told him not to do things like dat widdout telling me cause di dawgs play in the backyard ...frankly i dont see how him could have fertilised seeing dat mi a look pon dem yellow flowas weed ...how u a go fertilise an no weed fuss..but dat is besides di pint...

so if he had put down so fertiliser how would it affect pets...mi a go tear him anodda [censored] before mi fyah him rahtid...

Now there might be a HUGE problem. Lawn care products applied by those companies are NOT safe. Dogs have been known to get all kinds of afflictions including seizures, in homes where they use in lawn care applications service. Not a good practice at all. You can google organic fertilizing and see what is good to use. I pretty much only use rotted manure in my flower beds and I don't touch my yard with any weed killer. If it is a bad something I dig it up. Otherwise I just lef it and mow.
