She is 3 and a half months and her name at the shelter was Tulip (i'm as serious as a heart attack)
So far she doesnt seem stressed at all because she goes to her litter box without any problems (I showed it to her only once) She plays with both boys really well and even goes to curl up beside Mr Twiney

mr cb used to be just a cat "tolerator"...now to see him and them hanging out together in the backyard, and him stopping on his way home from work to buy them food
if she's a nice cat, he'll be converted to the dark side...mwwwhhhhhhaaaaa (evil halloween laugh)

awwwwww. mr cb bought them a cat tree and they didn't like it...but they like to sit on the step ladder and watch the birds thru the window. all now him still have the step ladder there because them like it
but him still refer to them as my cats

I knew I liked that the looks of that kitten.
I don't know much about cats at all. I like the way they move and their looks, but I don't want to get scratched up and I want a pet that comes when I call.
The fact that she doesn't act stressed already sounds like a plus. I considered getting one as a mate for Butterfly but decided I was too inexperienced.
Do you have to make special accommodations for them while they are growing up? For example, would I have to have be concerned about having the filling clawed off my leather sofa?Comment

One night I was watching a programme on Animal Planet; a couple had a cat who attacked everyone who came within its home. It was an all out puss attack. The cat exhibited the behaviour of a big cat in the African savannah hunting, charging and bringing down its prey.
Attacking the people heels and their legs. The poor couple could not have friends over.
The animal trainer said it was the worse puss outta control case he had ever seen.Comment

So far she is only attracted to the leather furniture if somebody is curled up in it with a comforter so she can snuggle ... i brought home a scratching toy for her and that is where she scratched from day one. The woman at the Humane Society told me that if she starts scratching/jumping unto where i dont want her to go to use a spray bottle and squirt water at her ... she has not attempted to jump until the table today at all. I showed her the main floor litter box once and she has been using it really well. I was totally shocked when I went to the basement to see that today (I spent some time down there doing laundry so she was there for a while) she figured out the one down there and used it. I havent had to make any major adjustments except for the first 2 days I kept the doors to the upstairs rooms closed when we were out so if she decided to have an accident it was on tile/hardwood and not carpet. I also got her softpaws in case she would try to scratch the furniture.Comment

Wow Twiney! Pippa sounds awesome. You really selected well.
I'm so far behind the learning curve on cats that I don't even know what softpaws are. Butterfly seems to like cats. I think there may have been cats in the home where she was born. She's used to running and chasing games with her dog friends, and I don't know if a cat would put up with that or if it's a good idea at all after all this time.Comment

Tulip My cat (Zazu) had never seen a dog before she met Tango and it was love by the 2nd week I think it helps that they are the same colour/markings but they play rough and then turn around and cuddle and groom each other.
