GB I agree if you have 2 kids who are under the age of 5.. it is very difficult to do the spic & span thing.. better to have some help

The worst one will be dismantling the chandelier, but I can see it needs it.

dont know if this is too late...
but to clean the chandelier, hang an umbrella upside down under the thing, turn off the power, at the power sorce, and spray it with glass cleaner...let it drip dry
will do the trick and will save u hours of work..

Another thing that I haven't seen posted yet. Did you know that your dryer sheets cause a film to build up on your lint filter, I just recently learned this myself. Anyway, I was told that you're supposed to take your lint filter out about every six months and clean it with hot soapy water and an old toothbrush, it will keep your dryer working longer and will also help in reducing your electric bill. The film is hard to see, but it is there.

My dryer, has a lint thingy that u *have* to take out after each drying...on the top.
usually its full too, ezpecially after drying somthing fluffy or doing *one* day worth of drying.

Okay, so my house is spic and span (just about - they actually ran out of time, so next time they come in two weeks, they will fine clean the kitchen). Although I know how to do it that well, I haven't done it quite this well since before I had kids.....at least not all at once. So here are a few more reminders...

Light fixtures that have globes or shades that are sealed into the bases get absolutely gross. Even if you don't see any dead bug bodies, there is dirt in there. Also, the vent fans in bathrooms collect dust, etc.

Ceiling fans are gross, too. If you don't run your fan in the winter to help keep heat down, don't turn it on to cool until you clean it, or you will be creating a whirlwind of dust and allergens. Also, make sure it is turning the right way for what you want to accomplish....(I guess I should go look that up and post it) There is a switch on them to change directions.

The dryer vent hoses can be clogged over time, too, and can eventually cause a fire. Periodically, they need to be disconnected, and you have to fish through it to clean it out. You appliance repair person can do this, too.
