been in my new house for 3 weeks and a couple of days
been shopping like a maniac
i had to buy everything - to put in perspective - i had to buy a spatula

now i'm worried that things are too brown - so i'm reaching out for help - i keep saying when my art gets up but . . . [img]/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif[/img]

Nice furniture! It looks nice so far. What art do you have? Or, do you need to get it still? I'd have some nice big houseplants in there and go with tropical decor for the rest.

What is the little alcove thingy? A dining area? Nice place, it looks so fresh!

I'm far from being a designer but what I would do is add some vibrant colours like <font color="red"> red lampshades </font> and <font color="yellow">yellow pillows </font>

want to do the green to pop but the green isn't popping - i'm gonna try the plants BUT

they will be

Seveen, That is a gorgeous house!

I think if you change the wall colors it would change the rooms dramatically.

I love the brown and wooden furniture. Once you change the wall colors and then add some accent colors to the couch, add some plants, some colored accessories - nick nacks here and there, you should be on your way.

The hardwood floors are beautiful. I agree that rugs would be a nice accent and would add the color that you desire.

I agree NN - The front yard could go for some color too. Maybe some plants or garden accessories.

Nice furniture there seveen!!

I agree with coolbeans-- some rugs would be nice.
You could paint your dining room a dramatic color (eg red)
and some accents in blue in the living room..

It looks like a nice space! Congrats!!

i'm working to get my art (African and Caribbean) out of storage (after the fire - it was stored) and down here so i can display it - i got loads of stuff - most very colorful and i must have a million nick-nacks from all over the world

since unno fraid fi paint may I suggest you wait a year.. get a feel for the place for all the 'seasons'.. by then you will know what colors would really work for the place.. and if u noh like de color.. u can always repaint .. [img]/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img]

i was trying to use the green as an accent color but it's not strong enough
